Gooey, fudgy molten brownie in a mug made right in the microwave in just minutes. This recipe is so easy, it takes like 3 minutes to make and you get a perfect single-serving portion brownie all to yourself, with a rich fudgy molten sauce in every bite.

I love this recipe because I can whip up a little treat for myself whenever I have a chocolate craving, instead of making a whole pan of brownies, that I definitely don’t need laying around the house.

It is so simple to make and the recipe is dangerously easy to memorize... 4T of flour and sugar, 2T of cocoa, oil and water, a little salt and vanilla for flavor and that's it!

Just add the dry ingredients in to a mug and stir them together.

Then, add the wet ingredients and mix it all together.

Cook it on 50% power for 1 1/2 minutes. until top has just started to set and the bottom and sides are still a little wet and molten. Now, all microwaves vary, and depending on the wattage of your microwave, your brownie might take shorter or longer to cook, so keep an eye on it and repeat process by microwaving at 50% power for an additional 30 seconds if you need.

I like to microwave at 50% power so you don't scorch it. I have found this makes my microwave recipes a lot less dry and "rubbery" and gets you that nice moist and fluffy texture.

Look at that fudgy ooey gooey molten sauce it creates around the brownie!

Dig in and enjoy your perfect portion brownie all to yourself.

Please note that all microwaves vary, and depending on the wattage of your microwave, your cake might take shorter or longer to cook, so keep an eye on it!

Ingredients
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • splash of vanilla

Directions
Stir flour, sugar, cocoa and salt with a fork, in a microwave safe mug. Mix the rest of the ingredients in, just until smooth.

Microwave on 50% power for 1 1/2 minutes. Repeat process by microwaving for an additional 30 seconds at 50% power if needed, until top has just start to set. Serve warm.

I like mine when there is a little bit of gooey "molten chocolate sauce" on top, so just cook it depending on how dry or wet you want it.
