July 4th Patriotic Regal Eagle Cookies

Celebrate Independence Day with these patriotic, no-bake cookies, inspired by our nation's most famous bird. I created these cookies for the "Treat of the month" in Family Fun magazine's June/July issue. They are so simple and fun to make and are sure to be a hit at any 4th of July party!

Check out my cookies recreated in the June/July 2013 issue of Family Fun Magazine or online at Parents.com!

July 4th Patriotic Regal Eagle Cookies

  • Oval or circular shaped cookie (I used Pepperidge Farm Milanos)
  • White or vanilla frosting (store bought or homemade)
  • Sweetened shredded coconut
  • cashews
  • sliced almonds
  • mini chocolate chips

Spread white frosting on each cookie. Fill a plate with shredded coconut and press the cookie into it to coat it. Use more frosting to adhere a cashew beak, a mini chocolate chip eye, and almond slice feathers. Enjoy!
