These cute little winter penguins are so easy to make and taste a lot better than fondant, because they are made out of 100% tootsie roll! Use them to top cupcakes, cakes or serve on their own.
Tootsie Roll Penguins
You will need
- Chocolate tootsie rolls
- vanilla and lemon tootsie rolls (or fruit chew candy such as Airheads, Starburst, etc.)
- Take one chocolate tootsie roll and flatten 2 tiny balls to create the wings. Mold the remaining chocolate tootsie into the body. Flatten a small ball of vanilla tootsie roll for the tummy. Create a flat heart for the feet and a small cone for the beak.
- Attach wings, tummy, feet and beak by pressing on to the body with your fingers. Poke two holes for the eyes using a toothpick.
- Add a hat, bow or other accessory if desired.
