Giveaway: CakeSpy Cookbook {Giveaway Closed}

Pin It

**THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED**

Here at Dollhouse Bake Shoppe, we LOVE everything whimsical! So when Jessie Oleson of Cakespy, generously donated a copy of her new cookbook, Sweet Treats for a Sugar-Filled Life for one lucky Dollhouse Bake Shoppe reader to WIN, I was thrilled!

It has over 60 of the most original, fun and over-the-top recipes for the ultimate sweet tooth! First of all, the book is covered in the most adorable illustrations of cupcakes and unicorns I have ever seen. And on the inside? Recipes just as whimsical and creative. We're talking Cadbury Creme Eggs Benedict and Cinnamon Rolls Stuffed with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. I felt like I had entered a magical sugary wonderland as I flipped through it, "ooooing and awwwing". Jessie wrote this book with that hope that she could inspire "a sense of fun and fearlessness to baking", and she did just that.

"What could be sweeter than a cupcake-stuffed cupcake? Perhaps a piece of birthday cake French toast? Or a Pop-Tarts ice cream sandwich? Maybe a piece of Magic Cookie Bar Pie? Oh the choices, how sweet they are. In CakeSpy Presents Recipes for a Sugar-Filled Life, readers find 60 of "Head Spy" Jessie Oleson's most popular, totally sweet treats, along with stunning photography so you can really appreciate the awesomeness of her desserts. And of course it wouldn't be a CakeSpy book without unicorns, robots, or Cuppie the Cupcake. Jessie's iconic and whimsical illustrations are featured throughout the book. CakeSpy's mission is to seek sweetness (literally) in everyday life, and this little book does just that."

  18. I recently taught a cake decorating workshop to a group of young artists and when we were brainstorming of ideas on what to make, one of the ideas that came up was to create a sculpture out of individually decorated cookies. So that is what I want to make. It would be a fun group project. Even for an art exhibit.

  24. I haven't made too many over-the-top things, I guess the most challenging items have been my kid's birthday cakes. They have always gotten to decide what kind they want, how it's to be decorated, etc. I've done layer cakes with Pokemon figures drawn on them in icing, I've done cakes with sky blue icing and rainbows made from Skittles, I've done cakes carved into the shapes of animals. The joy in my 2-year old daughter's face when I came into the room with a cake and she realized it was for HER...well, it still makes me cry a little when I think of it.

    I still make special cakes for them every year even though they're almost grown up. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I made 36 (or was it 48?!) cat face cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. I was up until 2 am then back up at 5am so they'd be done in time for school.
